Iii-te!Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 25 February 2007 in People & Portrait. Bit of a throwaway shot this one. Moments after going over, moments before the tears started. I removed the trip wire with Photoshop; does it look okay? Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Mike Cash from Kiryu, JapanOkay? It looks great! Every element works very well together. The distance and inattentiveness of the other people, the desolation of the sand, the smallness of the main subject....they each contribute to the feel of the photo and a close crop would have been a mistake in my opinion. As it is, though, a great shot. 25 Feb 2007 1:14pm @Mike Cash: Cheers Mike! @Jerry: Thank you Jerry. @kaveh: Thanks for your visit kaveh. Roman from Brooklyn, United StatesDoes lii-te mean something like "ouch!"? I think it looks great - brings out almost the complete helplessness of the situation. And of course the forecoming wail =). 25 Feb 2007 11:08pm @Roman: Thanks Roman, yes if you hurt yourself in Japan you can usually say "itai!" but there are lots of variations, like the one above. jennifer radio from Statesville, United StatesPoor little girl! I'd help her up... I love the way you've captured her shocked facial expression. 25 Feb 2007 11:13pm @jennifer radio: You're right Jennifer... what's happened to me? Before, my instinct would have been to help her up. Now, I take a photo. Vampiria from Loures, PortugalLooks that you were the only one watching. Amazing shot. 25 Feb 2007 11:38pm @Vampiria: Thanks Vampiria. Mum wasn't far away! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaCool shot Daroru, it's hard to catch these everyday kind of moments; you've done really well here mate! 26 Feb 2007 1:12am @Chris Sullivan: Cheers Chris. Alfredo J. Martiz J. from Tokyo, JapanHehe, nice shot, you were lucky to catch this with so many improvements in kids security today (which is nice)...=) 26 Feb 2007 2:26pm @Alfredo J. Martiz J.: Yeah, I know, it's getting more and more difficult to arrange these kinds of shots. Untitled from Kyoto, JapanThe good old tripwire ploy...worked well here.
