Kindergarten Kids, Sonoda v.2Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 7 June 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. I quite liked this black and white version of yesterday's shot. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

@Ming Img: Thanks Ming. Manuela Photography from Hainburg, GermanyI must admit I prefer this version! Superb. 7 Jun 2007 8:36am @Manuela Photography: Cheers Manuela! {H} creatives from Santa Clara, United StatesAgree with Manuela...nicely composed either way, though. 7 Jun 2007 9:09am @{H} creatives: Thank you H! Jason Kravitz from Brussels, BelgiumI agree - B&W works well here - I almost thought it was a day at the beach with those umbrella like parachutes. The conversion really brings out the lines and curves in this shot. Nicely done. 7 Jun 2007 11:09am @Jason Kravitz: Cheers Jason! travelingrant from Kanazawa, JapanYeah, thats really cool. The shapes and form really come out in b/w. I like that a lot. 7 Jun 2007 1:47pm @travelingrant: Thanks travelingrant. I lived in Kanazawa for a while, by the way. @Dimitrios: Thanks Dimitrios. simon from Singapore,i like this shot chum, but i must say i still prefer the original colored version =) i find the color very attractive, and i know how hard it is to get that sort of colors at the beach, with so many reflective surfaces.. aniwaez, the b&w works well too, with more emhpasis on lines and texture.. gd job! 7 Jun 2007 5:24pm @simon: Thanks simon. Its not at the beach though! This is a kindergarten playground. amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaWay better in the b/w!! The symmetry is mesmerising 7 Jun 2007 7:35pm @amy: Thank you amy! @allyy`*: Thanks allyy. filipe franco from Lagoa, Azores, PortugalYes, to black and white also it is efficient - reinforces the composition, really nice Daroru! 11 Jun 2007 6:17pm @filipe franco: Quite strong sunlight helped this I think filipe. rverspirit from Mount Vernon, United StatesOutstanding photo.. motion is very evident...animated and expressive... 15 Jun 2007 6:35am @rverspirit: Cheers rverspirit. Gabor Havasi from Budapest, HungaryVery nice. Could be Andre Kertesz image. The whole image spins around. I would crop out the upper part a bit, the "greens". Amazing shot. I'm envy :) 14 Sep 2007 8:26am @Gabor Havasi: Thanks Gabor I should have paid more attention when framing. Difficult to crop without cutting out some children I tried to clone brush the greenery away but my technique looked too fake. |
