Shizuoka JyagarikoPosted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 28 July 2007 in Food & Cuisine. When you travel around Japan, you'll see souvenir shops selling lots of special regional food and drink, including special regional variations on snack food. I love collecting this stuff; these are eel-flavoured 'Jyagariko' from Shizuoka (eel's famous there). Jyagariko are my favourite snacks in Japan. Just as I missed salt and vinegar or cheese and onion crisps when I left England, Jyagariko are what I'd miss if I left Japan. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!
