Hiwasa CastlePosted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 20 January 2008 in Landscape & Rural. Another view from Yakuoji temple. Unfortunately I didn't actually get to visit this castle. It's not original; it's a modern re-construction. I thought the colours here were quite autumnal; this shot was taken January the 1st! Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaIt's lovely Daroru, you've made it a wonderful compo, especially like the small structure at the bottom near that gorgeous tree and the little red lights do they have a purpose? is it spelling something? very interesting photo :) 20 Jan 2008 7:14am @Lorraine: My wife tells me it says "ga shou" - a new year greeting. Thanks Lorraine. Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaThe tones and texture are just fantastic. Wonderful shot. 20 Jan 2008 10:25am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks Michael. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanA beautiful location! The colours are definitely winterish and they embrace the toy-like-castle with warmth. The characters are the accent...I wonder what they used as materials for writing(?!) 20 Jan 2008 2:10pm @Japanalia: Thanks Gabriela. The kanji were spelled out with lightbulbs! @Twelvebit: Thanks Twelvebit. Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaVery beautiful. The temple fits so nicely into the landscape instead of dominating. 20 Jan 2008 6:04pm @Michael Rawluk: Cheers Michael. standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceMagnificent shot. I like the lighting and the tones 20 Jan 2008 6:31pm @standley: Thanks standley. Wolfgang Prigge from CanadaVery nice composition, I like how you managed to get the "ga shou" in as well. 20 Jan 2008 6:44pm @Wolfgang Prigge: Thank you Wolfgang. Frankie from Boxmeer, NetherlandsThe castle is situated on a beautiflul location. I like the colors: the landscape and the sky do have more or less the same color tones. Well done. 20 Jan 2008 11:15pm @Frankie: Thanks Frankie. |
