Digital Guff
Dogo Onsen, Matsuyama

This is a very famous hot spring (onsen) bath house, well known across Japan. As you can see it was very busy so we didn't go inside, instead we went to another onsen at a nearby hotel. Its a beautiful old building, although I was surprised how small it was - I was expecting it to look more like the bath house in the animated movie Spirited Away, the design of which was based on this place. I am totally enraptured of the top of this gorgeous architecture with the reddish glow in the window as well the two layers on top of the sign, they're magnificent with the slight glimpse of almost goldenpink...never seen that shade before :)

The upper part, the roofs, looks like a small masterpiece! Very beautiful visually! The movie is one of my favourites and while the exterior might havee been inspired somehow by this building, the interior (in the movie) was inspired by "Gajoen" in Tokyo. ( An experience which I recommend to you if you have the chance to visit Tokyo in the future.)
