Myoken CablePosted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 2 May 2008 in Landscape & Rural. Takes you part way up Mount Myoken, Hyogo Prefecture. The sides of the tracks are lined with cherry blossom trees. Unfortunately, when we visited here, we were too early - the trees hadn't begun to blossom. As it's cooler up the mountain the trees blossom later! Doh! Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Henri Rabagny from Paris, FranceGood framing showing excellent perspective. 4 May 2008 9:36pm @Henri Rabagny: Maybe next year Henri! Thank you. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanThe whole series of shots you're presenting here on Mt. Myoken makes me think of Mt. Takao on the outskitrs of Tokyo (very popular area with both Japanese and foreigners and ALWAYS noisy!). There is a cablecar and also a chairlift. I prefer the cablecar; I don't feel safe in a chairlift, the attraction of the earth is very strong! 8 May 2008 10:10am @Japanalia: The cable car and chairlift seem quite popular fixtures at many hilly locations around Japan! |
