Seirei, Myokenzan 3Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 12 May 2008 in Architecture. "Seirei" is a worship hall designed by architect Shin Takamatsu, part of the Myokenzan shrine complex. Unfortunately I chose a stupid angle to take this so I got a lot of unnecessary details surrounding the hall which I couldn't effectively crop out, hence my attempt at trying to mask it all with the blurring. I thought I'd post this anyway as this was the only shot I got showing the hall in its entirety. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

@gandz: Thank you gandz! @Saeed: Thanks Saeed! Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesInteresting. At first glance I thought it was some kind of wacky multiple exposure filter. It seems like those corners would be a little difficult to use effectively. 12 May 2008 4:18pm @Twelvebit: You're right there Twelvebit! vu@granby - Gilles Martineau from Granby, Québec, CanadaVery impressive worship hall. 12 May 2008 11:47pm @vu@granby - Gilles Martineau: It is isn't it Gilles? standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceSuch an amazing place. I love the geometry! 13 May 2008 7:17pm @standley: It's interesting isn't it standley? Gnarf from Stockholm, SwedenActually I think its a cool angel. The extra surrounding details just adds to the complexity of the building. Good job with the blurring! 14 May 2008 11:58am @Gnarf: Cheers Gnarf! |
