Seirei, Myokenzan 4Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 17 May 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio. "Seirei" is a worship hall designed by architect Shin Takamatsu, part of the Myokenzan shrine complex. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Paul van der Meer from Valkenswaard, Netherlandsreally beautiful strong black and white! 17 May 2008 11:24am @Paul van der Meer: Cheers Paul! standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceStunning shot. Great lighting and contrast! 17 May 2008 9:07pm @standley: Cheers standley! Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaExtremely cool shot. Something about the expression of the lion(?) echoes the form of the building. 18 May 2008 1:34am @Damon Schreiber: Thank you Damon! Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesThis is my favorite shot of this building --although the building itself seems to have been designed with form emphasized over functionality. 21 May 2008 7:52pm @Twelvebit: Thanks Twelvebit. I think so, it is basically a large empty space inside... |
