Yama-chan is an izakaya (Japanese pub / restaurant) chain from Nagoya. They're famous for Nagoya dishes such as tebasaki (chicken wings) and miso kushikatsu (breaded and deep fried pork dipped in miso sauce). Yama-chan's one of my favourite places, but there aren't any branches in Osaka. So I was very excited when they had a stall at a regional food fair held in Osaka during 'Golden Week' last month...

There aren't any here either. Why is it, do you think, that the figure has such an anglicized look? That seems to be a feature of Anime as well.

@Twelvebit: I think he looks pretty Japanese (well, except for the birdy bits), but I know what you mean about anime. You'd have to talk to someone who was in to anime I'm afraid!
