Fishy Feast

I took a similar shot about a year ago, http://digitalguff.aminus3.com/image/2007-08-19.html, just the one turtle this time. I was surprised to find that turtles were omnivorous; always thought they were herbivores. Are tortoises herbivores?
Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future.

I had a pair of turtles and a pair of goldfish in an aquarium once.
Now I just have a pair of turtles.
Dunno about land-only turtles, but as far as I know, swimming turtles will eat just about whatever fits in their mouths. :P
I might be wrong, but I think the turtle in your shot is just scavenging a fish it found already dead.
A bit gross, but a cool shot nonetheless. ;)

@Tkf15h: Yeah it was dead... turtle's are too slow to hunt I suspect! Thanks for the info about your turtles... I'm surprised!

@danthro: Thanks danthro! Tortoises are land-bound... and won't eat your fingers if you try to tickle them! (Judging by the responses above!)
