Mid-Afternoon Sun, Mo RiverPosted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 25 July 2008 in Landscape & Rural. It's getting baking hot here in Japan. Mid-30s (Celcius) and it will go higher in August. And humid. Down here on the bridge over the river you're completely exposed to the sun - wasn't my best idea, taking shots at this time of day! Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Stateswow -- glorious water textures and light reflection! 25 Jul 2008 5:30am @dj.tigersprout: Thanks dj.tigersprout! Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomI can get a real sense of that burning sun. Nice composition Daryl. Did you consider any cropping on this one.. perhaps a little at the bottom ? 25 Jul 2008 7:55am @Observing: Thanks Mike. To be honest, the solid black at the bottom was why I chose this shot! Lorraine from CanadaIt has a great mood, I think it's wonderful :) I agree with Mike though a little cropping would go a long way ;) 25 Jul 2008 11:53am @Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine! Cheryl from Texas, United Statesyes, I agree with Mike and Lorraine :-) I have found out the hard way also not to shoot in the heat of the day....the sun is way to harsh! 25 Jul 2008 2:09pm @Cheryl: Thanks Cheryl! @Vink: Cheers Vink! Gnarf from Stockholm, SwedenNice water reflections! It really look hot even though it is a b&w image :) 25 Jul 2008 4:26pm @Gnarf: Thanks Gnarf... it really was... Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomI love the depth of tones present here......and I hope you have air-con, mid 30's and humid...phew...it was 29C and 90% humid here today, and that was draining. 25 Jul 2008 8:13pm @Richard_Irwin: Thanks Richard! Do have an air-con; I remember terrible times in the UK when it gets hot and humid and there's no air-con to give you any respite... no escape! Do people have air-cons at home these days? Doug from Long Beach, United StatesNice transition from light to dark, with the bright spot to anchor it all. 26 Jul 2008 5:34am @Doug: Cheers Doug! akarui from Kagoshima, JapanI had to reduce the page to see your picture all at once. I like your composition as it is. 26 Jul 2008 9:18am @akarui: Thanks akarui! |
