Semi is Japanese for cicada.
This is the shell of the cicada, which is moulted after the cicada emerges from underground.
Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future.

great texture and like the lines and shapes. not quite as gross-looking as yesterday's but the cicada shell still looks pretty gross
