Semi 4Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 15 August 2008 in Animal & Insect. Semi is Japanese for cicada. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

@Veronelle: Merci Veronelle! Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceExcellent composition. Like the contrast between grey concrete and colorful background. And of course the 2 cicadas on each round hole. 15 Aug 2008 10:28am @Evelyne Dubos: Thank you Evelyne! Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesLooks just like the ones here. You sure these aren't tourists? 15 Aug 2008 4:16pm @Twelvebit: I wish; those buggers are endemic... @Alun Lambert: Thanks Alun! @Arps: Thanks Arps! Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaReally nice composition. So good of the semi to cooperate with this positioning. Today in Toronto I can hear lots of them, but that's fairly unusual here. 17 Aug 2008 6:09pm @Damon Schreiber: Cheers Damon. What's the year cycle for cicadas in Toronto?
