Semi 6Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 17 August 2008 in Animal & Insect. Semi is Japanese for cicada. The cicada on the top left side was still emerging from its shell. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI know they must get up in the leaves like this 'cause I hear them at night, but have never noticed them up there. 24 Aug 2008 6:18pm @Twelvebit: They try to crawl to as elevated a position as they can before moulting starts, I think. |
