Back from Tokyo; guess what? Didn't take my camera! But I was working anyway so it wasn't really the best opportunity for taking photos...
Here are some shots I took in Okayama just before I went away. An izakaya is a type of Japanese restaurant; I've got many shots of them scattered through my archives!
Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future.
I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

interesting shot, i assume that's the menu. so what are the characteristics of an izakaya that distinguish it from other restaurants?

The menu in izakaya or other restaurant like teishoku are part of Japan atmosphere. I have got a few pictures of them too. I will have a beer first...
