Café Time, Shinsaibashi 4 v.2Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 10 October 2008 in Business & Industry and Portfolio. This is the full-sized version of yesterday's shot. I thought there was something theatrical in this wider view, almost like a proscenium arch around the action in the mirror. And I was also torn over posting in colour or black and white yesterday... Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

tokyo-drifter from Tokyo, JapanNice shot. Great shades and patterns on the wall, nice crisp lines in the mirror. Lot's going on to frame the figures reflected in the mirror. One small thing, I would have tried to get the faces - even just the upper halves - of the two heads at the bottom, or, if their faces weren't captured in the original photo, cropped them out. 10 Oct 2008 2:35pm @tokyo-drifter: Thanks t-d! Actually, I wanted to keep the heads in - they are the background detail, the audience for the performance... @Veronelle: Thank you Veronelle! Hikari from Kumamoto, JapanI love this one ! , perfect frame and I agree about the heads , better in. 10 Oct 2008 10:52pm @Hikari: Thank you Hikari! vu@granby - Alain Berger from Granby, Québec, CanadaVery good idea, and a very nice B&W ! 10 Oct 2008 11:17pm @vu@granby - Alain Berger: Cheers Alain! Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomGreat b/w image Daryl, and the audience certainly belongs there. 11 Oct 2008 1:09am @Observing: Cheers Mike! Glad you agree! kerfendal from Paris, Francegreat composition with plenty of informations, really interesting shot 11 Oct 2008 4:38am @kerfendal: Cheers kerfendal! SPunkt from Stuttgart, GermanyGreat capture! 11 Oct 2008 5:30pm @SPunkt: Thank you SPunkt! Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesGreat use of reflection. I think this is the better image, both because of the wider composition and use of b&w, which pushes it further away from realism and into the realm of abstraction. 12 Oct 2008 5:33pm @Twelvebit: Thank you Twelvebit! danthro from Suburbia, United Statescool shot. nice tones. like it much better in b&w 13 Oct 2008 9:50pm @danthro: Thank you danthro. |
