Sightseeing in Kyoto 2Posted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 2 November 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Kiyomizu Dera, Kyoto. How can you recognise a real maiko (apprentice geisha) from a dressed-up tourist..? http://digitalguff.aminus3.com/image/2008-10-19.html These ladies have a guide standing to their left. And also, I don't think you would normally see maiko out for a stroll in the daytime in such a busy tourist spot. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!
