Tidying up on the grounds of a shrine in Arashiyama, Kyoto.
Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future.

Sweeping the moss. When I visited Kyoto, I saw women with little bamboo tools carefully pulling weeds out of the moss in some of the gardens. This is a very interesting image.

I have never seen anything like this before. I guess you cannot rake moss so it must be swept. Nice shot with the little motion blur.
