Tidying UpPosted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 15 January 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Tidying up on the grounds of a shrine in Arashiyama, Kyoto. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesSweeping the moss. When I visited Kyoto, I saw women with little bamboo tools carefully pulling weeds out of the moss in some of the gardens. This is a very interesting image. 15 Jan 2009 5:17am @Steve Rice: Thank you Steve! Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI have never seen anything like this before. I guess you cannot rake moss so it must be swept. Nice shot with the little motion blur. 15 Jan 2009 6:04am @Laurie: Cheers Laurie. I think you must be right about sweeping not raking; makes sense! standley from Carquefou, FranceSuperbe capture Daryl. I really like the movement effect! 15 Jan 2009 6:06am @standley: Cheers Richard! @Akihiro: Thanks Akihiro! Cheryl from Texas, United Stateslooks like an interesting place.
