Ebisu Shrine, New Year's Day 2

I'm a bit behind with posting these shots from New Year's Day - I forgot I had them! Oops!
These men are selling decorated bamboo branches called fukuzasa. People display them in shops and offices in order to bring good fortune for the coming year's business. The shrine was particularly busy this year!
Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future.

Great shot - I wouldn't like to be under that guy's stare though, he has a mean moustache :-) Those bamboo branches are so vivid - looks wonderful!
