Seen at the famous temple Kiyomizu Dera, in Kyoto.

Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future.

@Twelvebit: I don't know the details Twelvebit, but comparing with other similar statues around Kyoto, and this being such a famous old temple, I'd say they were very old.
