Gardener, KorakuenPosted by Daryl Johnson (Farnham, United Kingdom) on 21 August 2009 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. More pruning, this time in the famous garden Korakuen in Okayama city, west Japan. Although I'm now in England, this blog will still feature photos from Japan for the foreseeable future. I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Curly from South Shields, United KingdomInteresting to note with the pruning, each cut has been properly sealed. How often would you see that in England? 21 Aug 2009 8:22am @Curly: Very careful work isn't it? Thanks Curly. @Standley: Thanks Richard! kiji from Valenciennes City of Lights, FranceHi, 21 Aug 2009 10:53pm @kiji: Cheers kiji! Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesNice shot. I visited there and was puzzled as to why it is the third best garden in Japan. The only thing I could figure was the large open grassy areas which are unusual (actually nonexistent) in the other gardens I saw. 24 Aug 2009 7:52pm @Steve Rice: Thanks Steve. The lawn there is the main, famous feature of the garden that puts it into the top 3, apparently. You weren't impressed by the place...? Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesI thought it was fine. However, I felt all the gardens I saw in Kyoto were better. 25 Aug 2009 6:33pm @Steve Rice: Well, Kyoto's pretty famous for gardens... @Twelvebit: Oh Twelvebit... |
