Looks like a hard type of living to make Daryl. Are they some sort of fruit tree out of season?

@Curly: Thanks Curly. They were fruit trees if I remember. This was early springtime, I think the trees were nearly ready to produce fruit. This is not a poor area, just daily life in rural Japan!
