That farm is so tidy. The shed looks as though it almost got washed away.

A reminder of a typhoon, maybe...or a landslide......This is quite a familiar type of view in Japan and whenever I see one such image I wonder for the thousandth time WHY do they build so close to the shore? In a country where people live with earthquakes and tsunami and typhoons and landslides this attitude appears to me as suicide! Or...a kind of fatalism that I cannot comprehend!
