Kairospix from Singapore

great close-up capture! great contrast of colours and use of DOF!

reminds me of my days in Japaan drinking spring water from Japanese mountains! makes me want to go back and drink!

p/s Daroru - thanks for coming by to visit my photoblog, do come by again when you can :)

1 May 2007 3:47pm

@Kairospix: Thanks Kairo! You wouldn't want to drink this water though. They're all re-cycled bottles filled with tap or rainwater. The bottles were lined up in front of someon's house to stop cats using the garden as a toilet! I think the glittering reflections unnerve cats. You see these bottles used that way quite a lot here.

Lyndsey Le from Houston, United States

Nice take for the theme - very creative, Daroru! :) Cheers!

1 May 2007 4:22pm

@Lyndsey Le: Thanks Lyndsey!

mmmm...water... おいしい水! Beautiful and unique interpretation. Love that contrast! Thanks for your help in making this theme a success, Daroru!

1 May 2007 11:09pm

@Damon Schreiber: You're welcome Damon; thanks for thinking of it! As I said to Kairospix above, don't think this is water you'd want to be drinking!

filipe franco from Lagoa, Azores, Portugal

A perfect composition of complex nature for the number of elements and his expression. I like specially the contrast between forms and colors. After seeing the work I am going to drink water - Cheers!!

1 May 2007 11:12pm

@filipe franco: Good luck filipe, thank you!

Ah... I've never understood what those bottles were for before. Thanks for the explanation. I may give it a try in my own backyard.

2 May 2007 10:39pm

@Damon Schreiber: Supposedly effective Damon!

Sylvia Van Nooten from Milano, Italy

As you can tell, I've moved backwards through this series, love the way you've deconstructed these bottles. Sharp, beautiful photography.

3 May 2007 4:45pm

@Sylvia Van Nooten: Thanks very much Sylvia! Yes, shots 2 and 3 are of these same bottles. I like how you said 'deconstructing', I hadn't thought of these shots that way. On reflection, I would have liked to have posted these in reverse order, making this the final day.

Craiger from Vacaville, California, United States

16 May 2007 3:32am

@Craiger: Thanks Craiger!

yieyie from Ecuador

wow this is great. some contrasting or pure focusing?

27 May 2007 11:15am

@yieyie: Thanks yieyie. I played around with the level of contrast, there was very little contrast in the original shot which I think lent itself to the treatment. I was very happy with it!

Sylvia from Newcastle, United States

I'm taking a little time today to look at some blogs/photos and came across this shot. I really like the composition, colors, reflections..basically everything. Good job!

5 Dec 2007 6:50pm
