Concrete on a Burning Day

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 30 June 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

This is turning into a series showing you my route home from university...

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

I like your series very much, and I like what you see :)

Cheryl from Texas, United States

interesting shadows there at the bottom of the steps! I'm enjoying your series. I assume you walk from the university??

30 Jun 2008 1:49pm

@Cheryl: Thanks Cheryl. Walk, then train, then walk the other end (walking home now as my bicycle was stolen the other week...). This and yesterday's photo are on the home stretch!

Sammi from New Jersey, United States

The lighting is good in this picture. The wood on the side of the steps... it has interesting designs from it being worn out. Great picture ;)

30 Jun 2008 1:52pm

@Sammi: Thanks Sammi! Actually, there's no wood - it's concrete, AND it's new!! You can see colour views of the same thing next few days...!

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

Being behind as I normally am, imagine how confusing to come visiting and find that the guy running Digital Guff is now Daryl. I guess you're too young to be the movie "D.A.R.Y.L" --or, Data Analyzing Robot Youth Lifeform.

30 Jun 2008 10:53pm

@Twelvebit: Too young! No way. I remember it clearly... Although, no, I'm not him.

@Michael Rawluk: Thanks Michael!

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

This one is very attractive and it works perfectly in B&W! I like the way you captured the stairs and the shadows. Hmmmm.....large steps....leading to heaven?! They might be taken for the stages of life...with a bit of imagination....

14 Jul 2008 8:59am

@Japanalia: Wow! Many ideas there Gabriela... you're very creative!
