This is turning into a series showing you my route home from university...

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Observing from Local, United Kingdom

Great detailed and vibrant image, I'm surprised to see all the different building styles with very little space.

1 Jul 2008 8:01pm

@Observing: Thanks Mike. This is actually a very typical Japanese neighbourhood.

KIJI from Valenciennes, France

Nice scene. Very Typical. May be a sunday afternoon. It seems so "shizuka"

1 Jul 2008 8:17pm

@KIJI: Thanks KIJI; this family does have a nice quiet cul-de-sac where they live; lucky in Japan!

standley from brou-sur-chantereine, France

Very nice capture. I like the intricacy and the lighting here!

1 Jul 2008 8:49pm

@standley: Thanks standley!

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

Got a strong feeling of an afternoon from my childhood --somehow.

1 Jul 2008 9:24pm

@Twelvebit: There's a Japanese word for that situation Twelvebit - natsukashi.

Cheryl from Texas, United States

I love this clean, crisp image, great street shot!

2 Jul 2008 9:04pm

@Cheryl: Thank you Cheryl!

danthro from Suburbia, United States

Hi There. Great light and colors in this one. BTW, I just got an e-mail from someone saying I'd been the first to comment on their new blog, which made me wonder who the first person to comment on my blog was. So I went to the 'comments' section, clicked 'view all' and had to hit 'next' 98 times, upon which I discovered that, on October 27, 2007, the first commenter on my blog was.... Daroru! Thought that was kind of neat. Anyway, thanks! :)

@danthro: You're welcome! How time flies... thanks danthro!

akarui from Kagoshima, Japan

Typical architectures of living surroundings in Japan, houses with very little gardens, appartments... This was my first image when I arrived the first time in Japan.

3 Jul 2008 1:07am

@akarui: Yes its quite a typical scene isn't it akarui? Thank you.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

I've recently seen an almost similar image at Horikiri, downtown Tokyo! It's amazing the way uniformity works in Japan!!!!

14 Jul 2008 9:01am

@Japanalia: Is it because of the season...?
