Izakaya, Okayama

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 27 August 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Back from Tokyo; guess what? Didn't take my camera! But I was working anyway so it wasn't really the best opportunity for taking photos...

Here are some shots I took in Okayama just before I went away. An izakaya is a type of Japanese restaurant; I've got many shots of them scattered through my archives.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

interesting shot, i assume that's the menu. so what are the characteristics of an izakaya that distinguish it from other restaurants?

27 Aug 2008 4:11pm

@danthro: Thanks danthro. That's a good question; an izakaya is a place for drinking, with food to accompany the drink. Have a look here...
