Sightseeing at Kiyomizu Dera 2

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 15 October 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Another famous view from Kiyomizu Dera in Kyoto; same location as the shot I posted on the 13th.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Laurie from New Jersey, United States

This is such a grand place. One day I need to go there and see for myself. My youngest son is taking Japanese in school and hopes to go there one day. My oldest is also very interested in visiting there as well.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

You've always had good photos but lately they are phenomenal, is it just that you have had a chance to go to other places or have you bought a new camera, or is it just TIME, whatever your photos lately are outstanding !

@Lorraine: Ha ha! Cheers Lorraine! Same camera, but it's hard to get a bad shot at Kiyomizu...

That's a really super shot Daryl, the temple looks impressive - I can almost smell the old wood and incense.

How old is the temple?

@Observing: Thanks Mike. The temple dates from 798, the current buildings from 1633.
