Suburban Farming, Takayama

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 24 March 2010 in Landscape & Rural.

A very typical rural scene in Japan - a farmer tending to his rice field. Lots of farming is done on this local small-scale level in Japan.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Richard Standley from Carquefou, France

A very nice capture of this lonely farmer at work!

@Richard Standley: Thanks Richard!

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

He can get the work done. That tiny backhoe seems just the right size for the job. Cool shot.

@Steve Rice: Cheers Steve!

Magrat from Germany

At first I thought it would be a construction site... but no: farming! Thanks for showing, Daryl... :)

Michael from Shell Village, United Kingdom

It looks quite intensive.... is he building a dam ? Lovely shot showing this different method.

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

The rice fields around here feature water moccasins.

@Twelvebit: Nothing so dangerous around here, although there probably would be snakes.
