Ryokan Dinner, Kinosaki Onsen

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 4 March 2013 in Food & Cuisine.

We had a lovely meal at our ryokan (Japanese inn) in Kinosaki Onsen, heavily revolving around crab. We were told the meal would involve eating 2.5 crabs per person, including grilled, boiled, sashimi and even a cup of crab-infused sake.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Javier from Castro-Urdiales, Spain

Preciosa puesta en escena. La mesa, y los platos con los cangrejos tienen muy buena pinta.

Shiva from Berwick, Canada

Hi, I am a food freak - eating and cooking . ...... I like the setting of the table - and if the food was good like the setting, it must have been perfecct.

There is one thing - but it is my opinion - I find the two chairs in the front with their distinct and large pattern, very distractive. - But it doesnt take away from your intended subject.
I will take a tour through your Gallery - I only had a peek and found so many interesting imagaes. - Regards Monika

@Richard Standley: Thanks Richard, there was real attention to detail (as is usual in Japan).

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

Wow, this looks wonderful and I'll bet it tasted that way, too.

@Steve Rice: Certainly did Steve, you must have enjoyed a fair few ryokan dinners yourself...?

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

This looks like a reasonable dinner, no that extraordinary amount of dishes they continue to bring endlessly..And if you like crab, I'm sure you enjoyed it served in so many ways!

@Japanalia: Thanks Gabriela - actually there was indeed more food that came along, including grilled crab and a tempura course!
