A Trip on the Ibutama, Kagoshima

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 9 August 2013 in Transportation.

The Ibutama (short for "Ibusuki no Tamatebako") was the local train that took us from Kagoshima to the nearby onsen (hot springs) town of Ibusaki. Looks like a fairly standard Japanese 'one man' train from the outside...

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Looks from this that it has a Dark Side . . make sure you sit in the seats that offer a 'return' !

Quite a contrast to the shinkansen from a couple of days ago.

@Stu: Indeed Stu!

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Quite right...it looks very much like an old type train used on shorter distances...

@Japanalia: Thanks Gabriela... You've seen inside now! There's a few more details of inside the train coming up over the next few days.
