So, that's 'light controlled' and not like our 'zebra' ? I know Leslie Hore-Belisha's influence reached Hong Kong but probably not Japan.

@Ronnie 2¢: Yes Ronnie, in Japan all zebra crossings are traffic-light controlled.
I wish we had the same respect of the lights in France Daryl!
