Tea Ceremony, Okayama

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 7 August 2015 in Lifestyle & Culture.

My wife's aunt is a tea ceremony shihan ("master instructor"). We were lucky enough to be able to experience a tea ceremony conducted by her students when we visited Okayama in May. Here is Mayumi's aunt getting everything ready.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

@Richard Standley: Thanks Richard!

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

Such a mysterious art to the uninitiated like me. It must be fun watching her work.
