Chinu, the Black Sea Bream of Uno

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 11 March 2016 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

This sculpture located in Uno port, Okayama, was created out of rubbish collected from the sea... here is some information about the artists.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Richard Standley from Carquefou, France

@Richard Standley: Cheers Richard!

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

A fine way of awakening us to the perils of dumping stuff in the sea . .

@Ronnie 2¢: Indeed Ronnie!

Robert D. Burr from Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Very apropos. Our seas are polluted with this plastic and garbage and our marine life is suffering because of it.

@Robert D. Burr: Quite striking hey Robert?

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

An amazing sculpture. It's strangely beautiful and scary, too. So much plastic goes into the sea. I just heard that Japanese scientists have discovered a bacteria that eats plastic thereby dramatically reducing the time that it takes to get rid of waste plastic.

@Steve Rice: I'll have to look that up Steve...

Moridi from Tehran, Iran

Nice shot. Well done.
