The Dinosaurs of Crystal Palace 5

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 10 May 2017 in Art & Design.

I last visited this park as a small child - maybe 5 or 6 years old. On this visit, I realised how firmly that experience influenced my image of what a 'dinosaur' was. Despite all the passing years, and the more modern understanding of dinosaurs gained from school studies, Jurassic Park, Natural History Museum and so on... these statues had a real emotional impact on me, and I remembered that sense of awe I used to have about these creatures...

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

It's no wonder, Daryl. These creatures are so impressive and seem they could spring to life with a roar.

@Steve Rice: Cheers Steve - imagine how they seemed to Victorian Londoners!
