Botchan Densha, Matsuyama

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 23 May 2018 in Transportation.

This streetcar is a famous local tourist attraction; modelled to look like a Meiji-era torokko train, and named after the novel by Natsume Soseki which is set in Matsuyama during that period.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

Sure must make a spotter's heart beat faster ! I take it this is the train to travel on and that the original is there, too ? Or, have I got my Ressha mixed up with my Densha here !

@Ronnie 2¢: This is the actual train, it reverses out of it's resting space onto the platform, and you frequently see it travelling around the town. It's look is just decoration though - regular old street tram underneath the facade...
