The Acropolis, Athens 3

Posted by
Daryl Johnson (Worcester Park, United Kingdom) on 10 October 2018 in Architecture.

The famous Parthenon. It is undergoing necessary restoration and preservation work - a massive task. Our tour guide told us repairs (across all structures at the Acropolis) are purposefully made using clean, white stone so that you can recognise which parts are new, and which parts are the original.

I apologise in advance if I'm tardy with commenting on your blogs or returning comments during the week... I will get to you though!

That does make it easy to see the repaired spots. It's good they are diligent about keeping up with the needed work.
